Corporate trainers specialized in personality development, are engaged by the Institutes to produce engineers with well sculptured personality. The students are trained in body language, resume writing, public speaking, interviews and presentation skills.
An active Students' Council is constituted which plays a significant role to coordinate and manage student's co-curricular and extra-curricular activities in the Institute. The council is also entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining discipline amongst students.
Institutes have the membership of Computer Society of India(CSI) and Indian Society of Technical Education(ISTE) New Delhi. This gives its members an opportunity to learn about the latest international technological developments. Video shows, lectures, panel discussions and workshops on current and emerging areas of technology, help in developing leadership qualities and widen the horizon of the students.
NCC core activities commenced in the Institute from the session 2003-2004. Besides routine drill & army attachment camps, tree plantation, blood donation, social service and adventure activities are also carried out under the community development programme, the NCC cadets. Many cadets of the Oriental Group are NCC 'C' certificate and NCC 'B' certificate holders.
The aim of the APA , set up in the campus, is to create awareness about Indian history, heritage, cultural, social norms, great personalities, martyrs and social reformers, among students. The Academy of Public Affairs has been formed under the aegis of the Devi Shakuntala Thakral Charitable Trust. A number of social and cultural activities are conducted under its banner.
NSS Wing on campus is very active to help the society and create awareness in the students on Social Service. Tree plantation, Blood donation, awareness rallies and drives on cleanliness, save River, Girl Child, Education, various communicable diseases have been a part of campus activities.
Through a tutor-guardian(TG) system, a group of 15 students is counselled and guided by a faculty member for the entire duration of course. The students approach the TG for their psychological needs. The TG regularly corresponds with the parents apprising the status of their wards. Easy access to the faculty is the norm, both in the college and at their homes. The faculty is also available for chamber consultation, where an individual student goes beyond the classroom teaching to clear doubts and understands the concepts at his own learning pace.
To enhance the creativity of students, different activity clubs like Dance Club, Music Club, Fine Arts Club, Photographic Club, Dramatic Club, and Social Services Club are formed.
The sports complex within the college premises house volley-ball, badminton & tennis courts, cricket and football ground. Indoor facilities for carrom, chess and table tennis are available.
