Oriental students get Triple Awards- Smart India Hackathon 2k18

It is a momentous occasion for the Oriental Group as 3 teams of students have been awarded cash prizes of 1 Lakh, 75 thousand and 50 thousand for being 1st, 2nd & 3rd in various categories of Smart India Hackathon Contest 2018, held at different venues, in the month of March.

Students have proved their mettle in a National level, coding contest where teams from prestigious IITs, NITs & other colleges participated and the 36-hour nonstop contest was organized by Government of India simultaneously in 26 Nodal Centers.

The team “Logic view” of OCT got 1st prize in the event held at Pune, under Ministry of Information Technology. The other team, “Ciphers” of OIST, came 2nd   at Guwahati, under Ministry of Tribal Welfare. Yet another team, “Stack Mentalist” of OIST secured 3rd position at Kurnool under Ministry of Coal & Power.


Smart India Hackathon 2018 is a National level technical event to give another push to digital India initiative. This has helped the Government to directly engage technical students and then challenge them to create a digital solution, to improve their efficiency. About 45 Union ministries and 18 State Governments have joined the initiative.


Winners of TCS Finorama’ 2K17

Shubham Saboo and Rohan Raina, students of IT department added feathers to our wings, by winning the Grand Finale of TCS Finorama 2k17, held at VJTI, Mumbai . There were more than 20000 participants and around 300 teams that participated from all over India. Their innovation was considered best among all participated teams. They got a cash prize of Rs 30000/- on winning the competition.


Team Vijayant launches Vehicle

Students of Automobile and Mechanical Branch fabricated an all terrain vehicle (ATV) in house in the departmental workshop of OGI. The unveiling ceremony of the vehicle took place on the auspicious occasion of 26 January’18, the Republic day of India.


Oriental booms in Bombay

National Entrepreneurship Challenge, a National level Entrepreneurship contest was organized by the E- Cell, IIT-Bombay, where more than 500 Teams from renowned Technical and Management Institutes of Country engaged in a 6- month long activity. It comprised of quizzes, seminars & workshops along with brief explanation of the entrepreneurship development activities of their respective colleges. The winning team from Oriental was felicitated with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 4.5 Lakhs by the Director, IIT (B) during the valedictory function of the E-Summit at IIT, Bombay.


Kudos to the Robo Race Winners

Students of Oriental Group of Institutes, Bhopal participated in an Inter-College ROBO RACE competition held at SAM Group of Institutes, Bhopal on 6th February 2018. The team of six participants, Afroz Khan (ME), Anupama Singh (EC), Atul Prasad Gupta (EC) and Mukul Ranjan (EX) won second prize in Robo Race.


Oriental bags Prizes in Vigyan Mela

Students of Oriental Group of Institutes participated in 7th Science Fair, held in Bhopal during 9th to 12th February 2018 which was jointly organized by Vigyan Bharti and Madhya Pradesh Council of Science & Technology (MPCST).

Oriental Group of Institutes stood first for being the best Vigyan Pavilion showcased during BVM 2018. OGI also got first prize for Model competition (efficycle) and academic innovation. Hon’ble Minister Shri Paras Jain and renowned scientist, Dr. V.K Sarasvaji also appreciated OGI for its achievements.


OGI-Star Awards Ceremony

Oriental Group of Institutes conducted OGI-STAR AWARDS CEREMONY on February 17, 2018. Student activity council was formed and an oath taking ceremony was conducted. Along with this, the prize distribution ceremony was conducted for the students who excelled in academics, sports, events and activities.


Innovation Award

Md. Afroz Khan, Mechanical Engineering and Harsh Chaurasia, Computer Science Engineering, students of Sixth semester ,participated in NIRMAAN 2018 , Innovative Model Competition held at SIS TEC, Bhopal. They won the Best Innovation Award for their unique concept of *Spot Wash* which could also be used as a mini fire brigade
