Electronics and Communication engineering Department was established in1995, along with the faculty of the institutes. It offers UG and PG programs, affiliates to RGPV and is known for its quality facilities and dedicated faculty.it is in the forefront of organising several novel Co-curricular activities in premises.

  • Analyze complex designs and provide solutions in the domains of Communication systems, antennas and Signal processing using acquired analytic knowledge and Modern Design and automation tools.
  • Implement the concepts of Internet of things, Microprocessors and VLSI as per the current trends and needs of the Electronics Industry.

Facilities

Sophisticated and Specialized Labs

  • VLSI Lab with state of the EDA tools such as Xilinx ISE,Model ,Altera ,Quartus for front end design.Microwind,Slam Layout for back end design.High End FPGA/CPLD Boards with Virtex 5/6,Cyclone.Mixed signal designs tools also available
  • DSP Lab developed with AICTE Grant and possesses high end processing facilities such as TMSC6713 and TMSF2812 DSP starter kits, BWD Interactive DSP Learning Software and Matlab Software.
  • Communications and Computer Networks Labs Advanced Communications Lab including Analog and Digital communications Lab. Radar Lab ,Antenna Lab and Transmission lines Lab, all inclusive of facilities such as Antenna Design Tools, Antenna trainer kits with over 40 Antenna extension, Transmission – receiver Trainers, Radar Trainers , Transmission line Trainers. Computer Network Labs have high end LAN Trainer kits and softwares capable of emulating and designing complex networks. The Lab are also equipped with high end DSO’s and Spectrum Analyzers (over 1 GHZ) for precise computations
  • Embedded Systems Lab A fully developed embedded Systems Project and Research lab possess all the major developments boards such as Arduino, PIC, 8051, Galileo etc.

EC/16-01-2020 Industrial Visit to Meteorological Department of India, Bhopal Centre An industrial Visit was conducted to Meteorological Department of India, Bhopal Centre. The objective was to give students working know-how of the Technologies in use for modern-day weather forecasting. The experts gave technical demonstrations of Early morning weather forecast balloon fitted with Thermisters, pressure, and height reading sensors, Stevens Screen and the Automatic Weather Station (AWS) for rain forecasting
EC/18-01-2020 Discussion on Innovative Technologies for waste recycling and energy conservation Prof Mohd Ahmed, Head , Dept of EC OIST A Presentation was given on the topic of “Innovative Technologies for Waste Recycling and Energy Conservation” on 18th January, 2020. regarding various innovative mechanisms and their comparison with conventional mechanisms like Landfill, Incinerator, Composting, gasification etc.
EC/24-01-2020 Industrial visit to Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), Bhopal An Industrial visit was conducted for students of EC IV Sem(Sec B) to Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), Bhopal. The objective was to give students a look and feel of the latest technologies in the field of Power generation.
EC/03-02-2020 Expert lecture on Tremendous opportunities in the field of VLSI & chip design Dr Gaurav Trivedi, Professor IIT Guwahati An expert talk was conducted on “Tremendous opportunities in the field of VLSI & chip design” by Dr Gaurav Trivedi, Professor IIT Guwahati, Session gave information about the latest trends in VLSI chip design and 10mm fabrication Technology.
EC/07-02-2020 Expert Talk on “Electronic Communication systems” Dr Raksha Upadhyay Expert lecture was conducted by Dr Raksha Upadhyay, Associate Professor, DAVV, Indore. Dr Upadhyay explained the deep rooted fundamentals of Electronic Communication systems like bandwidth calculations, applied modulation schemes, signal analysis fundamentals etc.
EC/08-02-2020 In house workshop on "Complete PCB and Circuit Designing" Prof Abhishek Mishra, Deptt of EC, OIST The Department of Electronics and communication facilitated an in house workshop on "Complete PCB and Circuit Designing" on Saturday. The students were given complete hands on training of PCB cutting, Circuit making, etching, component soldering and final circuit testing.

The Students delivered a programming session on R language to help students get a better understanding of Data Science
EC/24-02-2020 Motivational Talk on " Mental health and Empathy through Storytelling Mr Nikhil Taneja Mr Nikhil Taneja. Nikhil Taneja is a Mumbai-based entrepreneur, writer, producer, storyteller, public speaker and mental health advocate. He’s the co-founder and CEO of Yuvaa, a purpose-driven youth media, research and impact organisation that works on creating socially conscious content and starting meaningful conversations among and about Indian youth, particularly on mental health. Nikhil also serves on the Global Advisory Board of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundations' event and community, Goalkeepers and is among 10 people in the world selected for this position. He won the Goalkeepers Youth Action Accelerator Award in 2019 for his work on documenting the mental health and identity issues of India's Gen Z.

Electrical & Electronics

Course Mode : Full Time Course Duration : 4 Years Seats : 120 Entrance Exam : JEE Main exam
Eligibility :
The admissions in Engineering or the B. Tech. course are done on the basis of candidates' score in the JEE Main exam which is conducted at All India Level. The exam was introduced in the year of 2013 under the "One-Nation-One-Test" norm of HRD Ministry.

DESCRIPTION

Electronics & Communication is a combinative study of Hardware Equipments & Controlling Software, which are easily seen in day to day life. This UG course gives the scholar deep knowledge of hardware & software which can enable them to design & implement electronic circuit boards in real life to make the life of the people easy.

Fabricating of any piece of hardware requires three steps, namely: Designing, Simulation in Virtual Environment & Testing. In the course offered by Oriental College of Technology, Bhopal, scholars not only covers the relevant syllabus introduced by the university but also gains hands on practice of various competitive technologies being used in the industry so as to impart the knowledge gained in the advent of new technologies.

Digital Communication

Eligibility :
  • Candidates should be Indian nationals.
  • Candidates should be graduate in Engg./ Technology with minimum 50% marks.
  • For those belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC (excluding creamy layer) categories of Madhya Pradesh need minimum 45% marks in their graduation, a minimum of 45% marks in their graduation.

DESCRIPTION

M. Tech. in Digital Communication focuses on both theoretical and practical exposure to the students in the field of communication and networking areas. There are many job opportunities in manufacturing industries and service organizations such as broadcasting, consulting, data communication, entertainment, research and development and system support.

This program aims at producing trained professionals who can successfully meet the demands of fast growing telecom industry. The course is designed to train the students with good scientific and engineering breadth, including proficiency in software language and use of latest software tools so as to comprehend, analyze, design and create novel products and solutions for the real life problems in the field of satellite, mobile, radio waves, networking, optical and wired data communication systems.
