About Us

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Oriental Institute of Science & Technology, Bhopal was formed in the year 1995 and provides an outstanding research environment complemented by excellence in teaching.

 

The Department offers B.E. &  M.Tech.(CSE & Software Engg.) degrees. The Department has a comprehensive curriculum on topics related to all aspects of Computer Hardware and Software with an emphasis on practical learning. The course structure is up-to-date and includes courses on nascent topics to equip our students with the latest developments in Computer Science and Engineering.

 

The Department has state-of-the-art infrastructure and computing equipment supported by high speed Ethernet. Various student organisations like ACSE(Association of Computer Science & Engineering), PDC- CSE-Personality Development Cell-Computer Science & Engineering, Cultural club, Photography club, Sports club and Professional Chapter like IET(Institute of Engineering & Technology) function in the department.

 

Our faculty members aim at delivering top class education blending their rich research experience with classroom teaching. The teaching-learning process comprises of class-room teaching, along with tutorials, practicals, seminars, viva-voce, minor/major projects, group discussion, expert lectures, industrial visits, industrial training and workshops. Power point presentations are held in seminar hall of the department. The teaching aids used are conventional blackboard/whiteboard, overhead projector (OHP), LCD / DLP, e-campus software and series of audio visual CD are available for various subjects delivered by NPTEL.
